St. Michael School Scout Group

First formed on 13 December 1997, the St. Michael School Scout Group has grown from strength to strength. It has come a long way from the first meetings, which were held in one of the classrooms with a small number of Scouts. Today, the Group, which is made up of The Cub Pack, The Scout Troop, The Venture Unit and The Rover Crew, has flourished and boasts a complement of 110 members.

The Scouting principles provide these guidelines:

  • Duty to God
  • Duty to others
  • Obedience to the Scout Law
Joint Activity with San Gwann Packing Valletta

The Group holds two annual camps - one at Easter time and one in Summer and also takes part in lots of other Scouting activities. We have built a reputation of being a smart, disciplined Group and we train our members to become the future Leaders of the Group. This has, in fact, already started happening!

We take pride in our name and constantly strive to raise the level of our Group and all its members higher than that expected from us.

The Scouting experience is lots of fun. Hikes, camps and adventures, at home and abroad, are all part of the package. Our members learn new things, whilst having fun and developing their character in a positive way.

Scouting education is considered, in its broad sense, the process of developing our various capabilities throughout life, both as an individual and as a Scout.

Caroline Portelli, Group Scout Leader, GSL.
