St. Michael School Scout Group
First formed on 13th December 1997, St. Michael School Scout Group, one of the first co-ed Scout Groups on the island, has grown from strength to strength.
Our Scouting Journey
Our Scout Group has come a long way since its initial meetings, which were held in one of the classrooms at the school in Pembroke, with a handful of boys and girls who were interested in trying something new. Today, the Group, which is made up of the Cub Pack, the Scout Troop, the Venture Unit and the Rover Crew, has flourished and boasts a complement of over 100 members.
The guidelines of the Scouting principles are:
Duty to God
Duty to others
Obedience to the Scout Law
The Group holds two annual camps – one at Easter time and one in summer, and also participates in various other Scouting activities.
We take pride in our name and constantly strive to raise the level of the Group, and all its members, higher than that expected from us. We have built a reputation of being a smart, disciplined Group and we train our members to become the future Leaders of the Group. In fact, we already have several of these young ‘home grown’ Leaders holding key roles!
Scouting education is considered, in its broad sense, the process of developing our various capabilities throughout life, both as an individual and as a Scout.
