Diverse Learning

At St. Michael School, we recognise that each child is unique, and has his or her own specific needs, and so, we have built a highly qualified in-house Diverse Learning Team to ensure that all our students are being fully supported.

Enhancing Academic and Emotional Well-being

This team is composed of Inclusion Coordinators (INCos), dyslexia specialists, a therapeutic play practitioner, a speech therapist, an occupational therapist, a behaviour therapist, an educational psychologist, Learning Support Educators (LSEs) as well as support teachers, who work closely with the class teachers, the pastoral care team and parents to equip students with personalised tools and strategies that are required for their academic, social and emotional well-being and success.

The team works closely together and liaises with parents to create an Individualised Education Programme (IEP) for students who have a statement of support, to ensure that attainable goals are being set and worked towards, and progress is being monitored. In the School’s ongoing pursuit to meet students’ changing needs, sensory rooms have also been set up for students who may need personalised sensory input.
