Performing Arts
Performing Arts classes at St.Michael School are an incredible platform for students to explore their creativity and learn various artistic disciplines. In these classes, students typically develop their acting, singing, dancing and musical abilities through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical exercises.
An annual show for each year group is held, where students showcase the skills they have developed over the academic year on stage, with Year 5 and 6 performing a well known musical. Preparation for the annual shows takes place during the students’ Drama and Music lessons, which include many hours rehearsing lines, songs and dances. In addition, students are taught about the importance of off-stage roles, such as set and costume design, and how vital they are to enhance a performance.
Performing Arts nurtures creativity, teamwork and discipline, providing a rich and fulfilling educational experience for students passionate about the art of performing. Ultimately, these classes provide an encouraging space for individuals to express themselves, develop their confidence, and gain a deeper appreciation for the performing arts.
