Senior School Activities
Prize Day
A Christmas concert followed by a prize-giving ceremony is held every year to award merit and effort.
Annual Concert
Each year group has the chance to shine on stage during their annual concert. These occasions encourage confidence building, creativity and expression as well as teamwork and community engagement.
Sports Day
Parents are invited to come and cheer on their children as they compete. Students are organised into four houses to participate in a number of team games and individual disciplines, and are eligible to win medals for different categories as well as the coveted House Cup.
Fundraising Activities
As a school, we actively seek to nurture social responsibility in our students, encouraging and enabling them to be agents of change within our school walls and beyond, fulfilling this important aim by regularly reaching out to individuals or organisations who are in need of our support. Throughout the year, we hold bake-sales organised by the students themselves, as well as dress-down days, blood drives, food and funds collections, and provide practical help in various projects.
Christmas Cheer Calendar
Over the month of December, a whole calendar of fun is organised for students to spread some Christmas cheer.
Inter-school Tournaments
We encourage good sportsmanship and friendly competition by participating in numerous inter-school sports events, and generally fair pretty well, as evidenced by our trophy cabinet.
EkoSkola
Through green initiatives like Ekoskola, our school is committed to protecting the environment and inspiring students to be agents of change.
Skiing Trip
As part of our commitment to offering unique experiences, the Sports Department organises a yearly skiing trip to Italy for our students. This trip introduces them to different activities such as skiing, sledding and ice-skating, providing them with unforgettable memories and valuable life skills.
PGL Overseas Trip
An annual trip to the UK is organised where students embark on an adrenaline-fuelled week. Whether it is navigating obstacle courses, ziplining, racing canoes or building their own rafts, students are pushed to their limits and encouraged to conquer challenges with a positive attitude and team-spirit.
Family Day
Every Christmas period, we invite parents and guardians to join us for a morning filled with fun activities, carols, market stalls, delicious treats and many more surprises.
Career Awareness Days
Career Awareness Day is an exciting event where we invite parents from our school community and professionals from various fields to set up engaging stalls. These experts share invaluable insights into their careers, offering students a chance to explore a wide range of career paths. This event not only guides students in making informed decisions about their futures but also strengthens the bonds within our school community. It’s a vibrant day of discovery, inspiration, and connection, where students gain a deeper understanding of the diverse opportunities available to them.
Days of Reflection
Every cohort is guided to connect with their spirituality for a full day of activities, reflection and discussion with peers, external speakers and the Pastoral Team – a much-needed space to still the heart and mind in the fast-paced world we live in.
Teencation
An optional overnight stay where students, year group by year group, live in community together enjoying one another’s company away from all technology to appreciate one another and build on personal and social skills in a more informal context. Years 7 and Year 8 experience camping at the St. Michael Scout Group HQ, Year 9 and Year 10 sleep at school and Year 11 go to Sicily for a 3-day programme of activities. The focus of the Teencation is WE not ME.
Teambuilding
Academics are important but so is working and relating effectively in a team – what better way to do it, then to stop classroom learning and head out for the day to focus on all the necessary skills to be an effective team player? Year group by year group, different activities are put together for the students to elevate their teambuilding skills and discover more of their hidden strengths.
Edukattivi
Our students participate in Edukattivi; a quiz show targeting teenagers. It is a competition between schools so the students get to compete and showcase multiple talents from academic learning to physical fitness. Representing their school not just themselves as individuals, also fosters a sense of pride in forming part of the St. Michael community.
