Les Couleurs, Quel Bonheur!!!

The French Subject Faculty Area within the Faculty of Education at the University of Malta organised a competition targeting French Language Awareness Students at Primary level.  The aim is to help learners appreciate French culture and to help draw their interest towards the French language.

Learners were asked to prepare a chart on the theme of Les Couleurs, quel Bonheur!!! The chart would include a number of pictures labelled with the name of the colours in French. Pictures were encouraged to relate to French Cultural Aspects e.g. Bleu for the French football team. They could also be related to terms or expressions containing colour e.g. rouge à lèvres or se metre au vert. Different or other expressions and their meanings can easily be found on the internet.

Parents/ guardians were encouraged to involve themselves in this activity. The main aim was to have all pictures captioned in French however, if the children wished to use the Maltese and English language, that was possible as well.

The entries were handed in at the beginning of April and had recently announced the winners.

A BIG congratulation goes out to Nicholas Azzopardi, James Consiglio and Daniel Quintano who worked together as a group of three and Emma Isola. They were chosen as the winners and will be presented with their book prizes and certificates at a Prize Giving Ceremony later this month.

WELL DONE!
